2021 Issue-Based Grant

After a tumultuous 2020 for our community, we did the research, cut our budget, and found funding to help those in need. This spring United Way will facilitate an issue-based grant process that will target two of the most pressing concerns Chatham County is currently facing: Homelessness/Homelessness Prevention and K-12 Education due to COVID learning loss. Programs of Chatham nonprofits will be hand selected to alleviate the need in a collaborative approach.

2020 Day of Service

The United Way of Chatham County hosted the first-ever Day of Service September 3, 2020. The event officially kicked off the annual fall fundraising season and connected more than 100 volunteers to opportunities to serve in Chatham County. The day played host to nine in-person volunteer opportunities, three donation drop off sites and two virtual service opportunities that could be submitted on the United Way website.

COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund

In 2020 the United Way of Chatham County raised $100,000 to give to agencies with urgent needs related to COVID-19. These businesses and community partners helped United Way strengthen the Chatham community during the pandemic in 2020.
