Funding requirements
United Way of Chatham County’s nonprofit partners must meet a stringent set of eligibility criteria annually. This provides assurance to our donors, sponsors and supporters that United Way of Chatham County’s nonprofit partner organizations meet the highest standards of financial transparency and accountability. All partners are 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, providing human services in Chatham County.
Allocations Process
Each year panels of volunteer citizens examine each agency’s request for funds. These volunteers scrutinize budgets, talk to agency staff, and then recommend which agencies should be funded and how much support they should receive. This citizen review process ensures good stewardship and accountability.
