The United Way of Chatham County will recognize local volunteers for their exceptional dedication and community service at the 2016 Chatham County Outstanding Volunteer Awards reception. The event will be held on Sunday, May 22 from 3:30–5:00 at the First United Methodist Church in Siler City.
Sheriff Richard Webster is the Master of Ceremonies and will lead the festivities. Special guest speaker Suzanne Wise will speak about the value of volunteerism. Jim Crawford, Chair of the Chatham County Commissioners, will present the awards. Entertainment will be provided by “Sisters Voices,” a locally renowned girls chorus group.
The following Chatham County volunteers have been selected to receive recognition for their outstanding community service: Mindy Brown, Rusty Davis, James Farrington, Bob & Sandy Holton, Jillian Rogers, Joan Zollinger. They were all also selected to receive recognition from the Governor through the NC Commission on Volunteerism and Community Service.
